Valley City's Eagle's Club was packed Thursday for the annual North Dakota Winter Show Women's Division Luncheon.
Division officer Mary Ann Leier, who introduced the afternoon, said this year's crowd was larger than last year's group.
Valley City's new First Community Credit Union opened in its new location Thursday.
Branch manager Dean Rohrich said there are a few last minute things that need to be done but construction is nearly complete. The sign was put up Wednesday.

The SVFA and Jamestown-based rescue group Prairie Paws Rescue were at the Winter Show with dogs available for adoption alongside a dog stunt team, Canine Stars, which performed three shows throughout the day.

The Open Door Center wants to spread the word to end the R-word. Wednesday, residents and staff at the Open Door Center in Valley City donned shirts saying "Shred the R-Word" in an effort to raise awareness about the hurtfulness surrounding the word "retarded."
