Terry Johnson of Sanborn was uninjured when his semi-truck struck a guardrail and entered the ditch near Interstate 94 in Valley City Wednesday afternoon.
According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, around 1 p.m., the 54-year-old was traveling eastbound on the interstate near mile marker 293 when, for reasons unknown, his Red 2000 Freightliner ran off the right side of the roadway and struck the guardrail on the bridge over 12th Avenue in Valley City.
The semi came to rest facing southeast in the south ditch on its wheels, spilling some of the barley it was hauling in the ditch.
Workers from Border States Paving on Tuesday place a new layer of asphalt on Third Avenue Southwest in Valley City. Providing weather cooperated, plans were to also finish paving Fourth Avenue Southwest and a small portion of road near Washington Elementary School on Tuesday.
