Blue Cross Blue Shield's call center in Valley City recently added eight jobs to its office, bringing a total of 19 employees. An Economic Policy Institute study showed that each of the eight new jobs adds approximately $115,000 in economic impact, which is close to $1 million total.
Linda Skramstad, the call center's team leader, said eight new employees started Sept. 16. She said the jobs were added because it was anticipated they'd need more customer service representatives based on the new healthcare reform.
