Setting the Body at Ease

Clark Kruta knows what pain is. He's had it, lived with it, and ultimately managed it. The patients he sees know that, and the new ones learn that. Kruta has true empathy for their suffering, and just as significantly has experienced the techniques he uses to relieve their pain. Kruta also has more than twenty-three years as a certified nurse anesthetist and has more than fifteen years in pain management using interventional therapies.

Charities Noted for Giving Hearts success

Charities serving Valley City were noted as some of the most successful in this year's February Giving Hearts Day, according to the Dakota Medical Foundation.
On Thursday the foundation announced an official total of $6,967,612 raised through Giving Hearts Day in February.

Burn Ban Declared

Fire, propelled by high winds, destroyed a home in rural Rogers Wednesday displacing a family of five while Tower City firefighters battled a grass fire along Interstate-94 near Oriska. More in Friday's issue of the Times-Record.

SCC Plans Extension, Renovation

The Sheyenne Care Center in Valley City is planning a three-year extension and renovation beginning this year. Administrator Craig Christianson said bids for the estimated $12.5 million project will open April 7, with hopes of construction beginning in May. More in Friday's issue of the Times-Record.

Throwback Thursday: 'Suddenly It's Summer'

The Valley City Times-Record plans to run a historical photograph each week on Thursdays submitted by our readers.

Pauline Lentz of Mesa, Ariz., provided the Times-Record with this photograph of Julie Lentz, the daughter of Pauline and Bob Lentz, taken in 1979. Julie is selecting sundress and hat for a "Suddenly It's Summer" promotion sponsored by the Valley City Times-Record and local businesses. Pauline said her daughter worked at The Fair Store in Valley City during high school, and has good friends who live in Valley City.

Faith Lutheran, Another Step Closer

Faith Lutheran Church will soon start building its new home, but it will be in a different building than the one originally planned.

According to Reverend Jolene Knudson-Hanse, the new plan came from Enterprise Sales in Valley City and is about 2,000 square feet larger than the old plan, allowing more space for gathering as well as dedicated classrooms, all in a more modern setting. She's hoping for skylights in the sanctuary to fill it with light like the former sanctuary.
