Congratulations to Us!

May 20, 2015

Congratulations to us! The Valley City Times-Record brought home nine awards from this year's North Dakota Newspaper Association convention. We received one first place, three seconds, two thirds, and three honorable mentions for papers under 12,000 circulation. We are the smallest paper in the division going up against papers two- to three times our size. Your local paper, this paper, is one of the best in the state. Our awards say so.

Barnes County Highway 32 closed

May 14, 2015

Due to deteriorating road conditions, the Barnes County Highway Department on Thursday morning closed Barnes County Highway No. 32, two miles west of county road No. 7 and 2 ½ miles east of the Stutsman County line for a distance of one mile. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes and to use caution while traveling on all county gravel roads.
Jamie Smith, an administrative assistant with the Barnes County Highway Department, said Thursday the road has been closed due to a combination of rain and “soft road conditions.” She speculated the road could be closed for several days.
