The Valley City School District's major campaign to collect food for those in need begins Wednesday, albeit under a new name, “Stuff The Truck.”
Last year the effort went under the name “Pack The HAC.” The new name brings the effort full circle, said Cindy Waagen, director of Marketplace Foods.
“That was our original name,” when Marketplace Foods started the effort in 2000, Waagen said Wednesday.
The Valley City School District took over leadership in about 2005, Waagen said. “When it was done by Marketplace the schools were always involved,” she said.

The event will be held Oct. 31 from 6-7:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the church.
Members of the Nazarene Church will decorate the trunks of their vehicles and hand out treats to kids. The free event is open to children of all ages and their families.
