Tammy Sadek: Andrew was Murdered

Tammy Sadek believes her son Andrew was murdered.

In an interview with KFGO radio Tuesday, Tammy said her son was not suicidal and called upon North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenhjem to investigate his death and the actions of the law enforcement agency that investigated her son for allegedly selling marijuana; the agency Tammy claimed was bullying her son.

The Valley City Times-Record plans to run a historical photograph each week on Thursdays submitted by our readers.

Wes Anderson, curator of the Barnes County Historical Society Museum agreed to start off the series and give our readers an idea what we are hoping will be submitted with this photo from the museum archives.

Photos can be of events or places in Barnes County from 10, 20, 30 years ago, or even older. We will publish at least one submitted photograph every week in the Valley City Times-Record.

Rental Woes in Valley City

Affordable rental housing has become a tenuous issue in Valley City. The loss of dozens of apartments in the name of permanent flood protection coupled with a growing population has left potential renters struggling to find good, affordable housing, especially for families.

Over the course of the next several days the Times-Record will explore Valley City rental issues and what renters can expect for their money alpong with what struggles landlords have finding good tenants. Read more in upcoming issues of the Valley City Times-Record.

V-500 Kicks Off Campaign

Warrant Wednesday: Shelton Amar Ard

Each Wednesday, local law enforcement asks for help from the community in locating individuals who have felony warrants out for their arrest.
This week, the Barnes County Sheriff's Office is looking for Shelton Amar Ard.

Ard is wanted on a bench warrant for failure to appear at an order to show cause hearing for original charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor; ingesting a controlled substance, a class A misdemeanor and possession of a controlled substance, a class B misdemeanor. He is also wanted on a warrant of attachment for child support.

Play Being Written on Vangstads

The grand-nephew of Thilda and Lena Vangstad, whom Vangstad Auditorium is named for, is writing a play about the lives and teaching careers of his great-aunts to be performed in the theater after renovations are finished this year. More in Tuesday's issue of the Times-Record.

Lindermann, Miklas Plead Guilty

August 25, 2014

Andrew Miklas, 25, and Nicole Lindermann, 18, on Monday pleaded guilty before Southeast District Judge James Hovey to arson and burglary charges for their roles in the October, 2013 arson of Faith Lutheran Church in Valley City.

Lindermann changed her plea from not guilty to guilty before Hovey at 2 p.m., while Miklas changed his plea in a 3:30 p.m. hearing.
Lindermann pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy to commit arson and conspiracy to commit burglary along with misdemeanor conspiracy to commit theft.

Final Airshow Plans Set

Final plans have been set for the 2014 Wings and Wheels Airshow, planned for Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Barnes County Municipal Airport. More in Monday's issue of the Times-Record.
