Valley City's Stop-n-Go is one of 24 in the region that will be bought by Casey's General Stores, Inc. later this year.
Casey's Chief Financial Officer Bill Walljasper said Monday the Ankeny, Iowa-based chain has a signed agreement to buy a total of 24 Stop-n-Go stores, 20 in North Dakota and four in Minnesota. The transaction is expected to be complete in May, and "one of the things we'll do immediately is rebrand that particular site, which is more sign-oriented than anything."

The North Dakota Winter Show is hosting a new event this year, where the community has the chance to take the stage. A karaoke contest will be held Thursday, March 6 beginning at 6 p.m. in the main arena of the NDWS building. The contest is open to all ages, but those under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian consent. There will be prizes of $1,000, $500 and $250.

Potential new members of Valley City's Masonic Lodge No. 7 were invited to a special â€śRush Nightâ€ť at the lodge at 214 3rd St SE. About 20 people attended the special night which included an evening meal and a program about the organization along with a tour of the Valley City Lodge. More in Monday's issue of the Times-Record.
