CBS' Big Brother is holding a casting call in Fargo this weekend. If you're from the Barnes County area and plan on auditioning, please let the Times-Record know, and we'll follow you to your audition.

The casting call will be held Saturday, March 23 from 12 to 3 p.m. at Fargo Billiards and Gastropub (3234 43rd St. South, Fargo, ND).

Valley City Training Officer Phillip Hatcher was the first officer in the Valley City Police Department to attend free training offered by the Center for Domestic Preparedness in Anniston, Ala.
The CDP is operated by the United States Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency and is the only federally-chartered Weapons of Mass Destruction training facility in the nation.
The hands-on training enables responders to effectively prevent, respond to and recover from real-world incidents involving acts of terrorism and other hazardous materials.
GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota men's basketball team's first-round game in the CollegeInsider.com Tournament has been delayed by weather.
UND was to play at Northern Iowa on Tuesday night. The game has been moved to Wednesday night due to a winter storm.
UND says blizzard conditions in eastern North Dakota and parts of Minnesota on Monday made it impossible for the team to travel to Cedar Falls, Iowa.

UPDATE: Just heard from our driver. He did make it to Fargo, and is loading today's papers as this is typed. There will be a paper today, albeit later than usual.
Barring any complications we are hoping to have the papers out by 2:30 p.m.

As of Friday, the national weather service predicted that snow would continue to spread across the region through much of the day, with possibly a brief break between the first round of snow and another one coming in from the northwest by afternoon.
Snow temporarily exited the area Friday night, then returned Sunday and Monday.
Another storm system took aim at the region Sunday afternoon through Monday. It was a significant storm with snow and blowing snow causing potential travel problems late Sunday night and Monday.

A bill was recently approved by the North Dakota House of Representatives that would allow armed personnel in schools.
The legislation would allow school officials to decide whether they want guns in their schools, and the decision could be made in closed session.
Valley City Public School Superintendent Dean Koppelman supports the right of school districts to decide if they want armed staff in the hallways, but personally he would not support having armed staff in his school.

ND ROAD REPORT: A No Travel Advisory remains in effect for Williston, Minot, Jamestown, Valley City, Fargo, Wahpeton and surrounding areas due to high winds causing blowing snow, areas of near zero visibility, compacted snow and continuous ice on roadways. Motorists should not travel due to hazardous conditions which may make it unsafe to travel.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has extended a Travel Alert to include Fargo, Casselton, Wahpeton and surrounding areas due to blowing snow sticking to the roadways causing areas of scattered slush, compacted snow, and continuous ice. Conditions are such that motorists can still travel in these areas, but should be advised that wet roads may turn to ice as temperatures drop overnight and challenging winter driving conditions may exist. Motorists are encouraged to reduce speeds and drive according to the conditions.
