Valley City police, the city attorney and the city administrator are investigating the alleged illegal access, by a Barnes County official, of a phone call made to the Valley City Police Department.

The United States Postal Service announced Wednesday plans to transition to a new delivery schedule that will end regular mail delivery Saturdays on street and rural routes.
âRight now, the new change at this time is scheduled to start the week of Aug. 5,â Valley City Postmaster Sherry Johnson said, adding that the schedule is still tentative to change.
âThat being said, mail will continue to be delivered to post office box customers just as is, so if you have a P.O. box, you wonât notice a change,â Johnson said.
Valley Cityâs Looysen I Care is going state of the art with new equipment for helping diagnose eye problems, said Dr. Steve Looysen, owner of the business on West Main Street.
âI have new technology thatâs pretty exciting,â Looysen said Wednesday.
New technology that recently arrived at the operation include a tonometer, a digital camera for taking photographs of the rear of the eye, and a device called an OCT, or Optical Convergence Tomography.
