The Barnes County Salvation Army unit is seeking volunteers to ring bells during this year's red kettle drive. The campaign, which raises money to help community members in need, begins Friday, Nov. 29, the day after Thanksgiving, and lasts until Christmas Eve.
The familiar red kettles will be set up at Leevers Foods, Marketplace Foods and Shopko in Valley City from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Disabled veterans from around North Dakota will soon have to participate in a special deer hunt at Camp Grafton near Grand Forks. Read more in Tuesday's Times-Record.
Valley City has numerous feral or wild house cats, which can be a rabies concern, said Michelle Feist, an epidemiologist with the North Dakota Department of Health. More in Wednesday's issue of the Times-Record.
Congressman Kevin Cramer plans to visit Valley City for discussion and coffee Monday, Nov. 25 at Vicky's Viking Room, 253 Central Avenue North, from 2 to 3 p.m.
