At Home With Extension: Help Preschool Children Deal With Violence In The Media

Preschool children today are surrounded by violence. Much of the violence that children are exposed to is through television and other screen time. According to data from the Nielson Company, pre-schoolers ages two to five spend 32.5 hours a week in front of the television, watching TV, watching shows recorded by DVR, watching DVDs or playing video games.

Elementary Students Collect Pet Supplies

Third-graders from Jefferson School teamed up to collect supplies for the Sheyenne Valley Friends of Animals. Here representative students from each of the four sections present their donations to SVFA members Kay Kringlie and Michele Grebel. The third-grade teachers who coordinated the effort are:  Mrs. Potratz, Mrs. Goven, Mrs. Breckheimer and Mrs. McDaniel.  The donations will be used for needy animals in the Valley City area.
