E-mail scams are prolific in North Dakota and have begun showing up on police and sheriff’s reports in Valley City and Barnes County.

Activities for Snow Week, Jan. 28-Feb. 2, include a hallway decorating contest and pep rally with coronation at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Hi-Liner Activity Center.
The First Community Credit Union in Valley City will soon have a new home. Land has been purchased on East Main Street, on the east side of Essentia Health, that will soon be the location of a new building for the bank branch.
Steve Schmidt, president, said they closed on the purchase in December, and “our intentions are to break ground this spring.” The company is negotiating right now with a general contractor.
That mother of mine didn’t spank us, whip us, paddle us or slap us. I just remember her baby blues turning boogie-man black with “the look.” You know the look. Your wife probably gives it to you when you leave the toilet seat up. I give that husband of mine the look when he’s talking on the phone to someone and discloses something that shouldn’t have been disclosed. It’s a spiritually reckoning thing-the look, it is. It is a visual prompt to let you know you’re wrong. People don’t use the look unless there is a wrong lingering near.
I love shoes. Any kind of shoes, sneakers, flats, boots, whatever. But my first love is high heels. I own heels in every color and shape. I have purple stilettos, black wedges, and pink pumps. I own shoes with round toes, flat toes, peep toes, and toes so pointed I had to buy a size larger to accommodate my foot.
My obsession with shoes started early. When I was little, I had foot problems and had to wear ugly orthopedic shoes. I always had two pairs, one in black and one in brown.
