Members of the Red Knights of North Dakota Chapter 1 gather Sunday at the Valley City Fire Department for the motorcycle clubâ€™s annual 911 Run. The club, made up of firefighters from Barnes County and the surrounding area, raises money for those in need from its annual ride close to Sept. 11. The 911 ride takes place annually, and this yearâ€™s event took place Sept. 16.
Valley City Public Schools want parents to know there is another useful weapon in the fight against teen substance abuse.
A link to Parents LEAD (Listen, Educate, Ask and Discuss), a website for parents who worry about their child drinking alcohol or using drugs, was recently sent in an email to parents.
Veterans from the 164 Infantry Association gathered in Valley City last weekend for its annual reunion.
Veterans and their families from the 164 Infantry National Guard, who fought in World War II and the Korean War, enjoyed a weekend of visiting, musical entertainment and food.
The event began Friday with registration and a social at the Veteranâ€™s of Foreign Wars (VFW) Club.
A supper and dance was held at the VFW on Friday evening, and Saturdayâ€™s events, including a meeting, memorial service and banquet, were held at the Senior Center, American Legion and VFW.
The Democratic candidate for the North Dakota Governorâ€™s Office, Ryan Taylor, made a campaign stop at the Valley City Times-Record last week.
