Valley City Eagles 2192 held its 43rd annual award banquet at the Aerie Club with Lorney Behm as the master of cememonies. The hometown builder was Dakota Plains Co-op with manager Ken Astrup who accepted the award and thanked the Eagles.
The Civic Service Award went to Fire Chief Gary Retterath and was presented by Mary Simonson, a former winner.
The Humanitarian Award was given to Lynell Gertin by Don Malec and Gloria VanDyke. Gertin saved Gloria while she choking at the bank.
A number of musical units, including VCHS, performed in Monday’s Memorial Day parade down Central Avenue in Valley City.
WIMBLEDON, N.D. - Cold weather, rain and a five-year wait were not enough to deter the crowds that gathered in Wimbledon for the grand opening of the Midland Continental Railroad Depot Transportation Museum on Saturday.
