Valley City High School Student Nicholas Lee, under the guidance of Edith Wagar, has earned the degree of Premier Distinction, the National Forensic League’s highest degree of student membership.
A degree of Premier Distinction reflects sustained excellence in classroom activities, competition rounds and service projects.
Students may earn points in six separate categories: speech, debate, congress, service, district and national.
BALDHILL CREEK, N.D. – The Barnes County Water Resource District Board tabled a discussion on supporting a proposed study for a dry dam on the Baldhill Creek after hearing from several landowners in that area who opposed it.
The Baldhill Creek site and another near Cooperstown were identified last summer in a study conducted by West Fargo-based Moore Engineering as two sites that could retain a significant amount of water from entering Ashtabula Lake, which lies upstream from Valley City, behind the Baldhill Dam.
After watching the effects of a methamphetamine epidemic sweep across the state in the middle of the last decade, State Senator Larry Robinson knew something had to be done to alleviate the damage caused by the dangerous drug.
Today, a rehabilitation center bearing Robinson’s namesake is celebrating six years of success in helping treat addictions to meth and other substances.
