Fourth Annual Christmas Cookie Extravaganza will be held from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Lunch will begin at 11 a.m. Grace Free Lutheran Church, 2351 West Main, Valley City
In an article titled "VCSU to Host Holiday Extravaganza Concert," that was published in the Dec. 5 edition on page 5, the mentioned concert was actually held last Saturday, Dec. 1, and will not be held this Saturday, Dec. 8. The Times-Record regrets the error.
A holiday-season farmer’s market is scheduled for Saturdays until Christmas at the Barnes County Historical Museum from noon to 2 p.m.
Available this month will be holiday crafts, baked goods, fall veggies, and Christmas evergreens.
According to organizer Becky Huber, the winter farmer’s market will be a great place to purchase gifts of locally made Christmas crafts from vendors that include Candy Rasmussen and Janice Syverson, Huber and more.
Shoppers can also enjoy visiting the museum.
The Elevate Within Holiday Extravaganza, which is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club, is just one way the organization hopes to help people de-stress during the holidays.
Valley City State University students spent Thursday packaging up books and other supplies for soldiers as a service learning project and charity campaign.
The students in professor Jonna Ziniel’s human communication course have spent the past two weeks gathering donations, including books, cards and letters and basic toiletries, to send to soldiers serving overseas.
The organization, called “Books for Soldiers,” has grown from sending just books to much more.
