Occupation: Officer with Valley City Police Department, 1973-2000, Chief of Police 2000-2011
Education: B.S. in Agricultural Economics from NDSU
Family: Wife Deb, daughter Jennifer (Bryan) Kriewald, son Michael (Erica) Ross, and four grandchildren.
Organizatons: Member of Our Savior's Church, ND Peace Officers Association, Fraternal Order of Police, and Valley City Eagles.

Bob Werkhoven, current Valley City Mayor (term began June 2010)
Occupation: (retired) Former District Engineer at the North Dakota Department of Transportation.
Education: B.S. Civil Engineering from NDSU, Associate Degree Wildlife Management from Bottineau School of Forestry.
Family: Wife Darlene and children Dawn, (West Fargo) Dan (Valley City) and David (Jamestown).
In a memo from the North Dakota Department of Transportation to officials in the state, Local Government Engineer Paul Benning said that the state will receive $100 million less than needed to repair flood damage.
