Final plans have been set for the 2014 Wings and Wheels Airshow, planned for Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Barnes County Municipal Airport. More in Monday's issue of the Times-Record.
Tim and Becky Hager with the help of family and friends turned the Homewood Barn at their farm southeast of Valley City into a place for the family and other musical guests to perform gospel music. Many show up to watch the singpsirations at the restored barn and another will be held in a few weeks.
Singspiration at Homewood will be held Sunday, Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. at the farm of Tim and Becky Hager (1116 40th Street Southeast, Valley City).

Valley City High School band teacher Tom Kjelland is leading a campaign to restore a historic grand piano that until recently was used in the Valley City City Audi building. More in Monday's issue of the Times-Record.
Jaden Anderson and Midwest Plains Regional champion Fargo opened the Babe Ruth World Series against host Longview, Wash. at David B. Story Field on Thursday, falling 5-3 before a 10-0 defeat to Torrance, Calif., on Saturday.
Anderson, whose father is Jeff Anderson of Carrington, N.D.â€™s Central City Auto Auction, and whose step-grandfather is Tony Heinze of Page, N.D.â€™s Heinze-Trottier-Parkman Auto Services, is a right-handed pitcher soon to become a sophomore at Fargo Davies High School.
Saturdayâ€™s drizzly Hillsboro cross country meet turned out to be a grand event as most of the Eastern Dakota Conference powers turned up to race, as did schools from Grand Forks, Fargo, West Fargo, Wahpeton and smaller schools from eastern North Dakota and Minnesota.
Valley Cityâ€™s junior high girls team took third in the 7-9 Division behind Fargo Shanley and Fargo Davies as Sharon Michael, Presley Curtis and Sophie Boe, led the Hi-Liner pack in their cross country debuts.
Eliza Schueneman, Mikayla Wolla, and Rebecca Thompson rounded out the bunch.
Valley City Public Schools announces that Suzanne Fisher, a USA Gymnastics-certified coach with over 30 years of combined experience in dance, competitive cheer and gymnastics, is the new head Hi-Liner gymnastics coach.
Fisher enters her third year in the Hi-Liner Program, having spent her first two as an assistant coach with her husband, David Fisher. Suzanne Fisher is also the Valley City Twisters Gymnastics Club head coach of three years.
Andrew Sadek died as a result of a gunshot wound to his head, according to autopsy results released to the North Dakota State College Science Police Department Saturday. According to Mark A. Koponen, M.D. medical examiner, the manner of death has been ruled as undetermined. A toxicology drug screen was negative.
Barnes County has decided to replace a Sheriff's Department squad car heavily damaged in an Aug. 2 accident rather than repairing it. More in Friday's issue of the Times-Record.
Three new members recently joined the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce 12-member board. Pictured (left to right) are new member James Jensen; president Michelle Wobbema; president elect Dawn Riley; new member Alison Kasowski; and new member Michael Strom.
The members will be starting the new year Oct. 1. Each member serves on one committee and they are to promote Valley City and area businesses as well as recruit new members.
Judge Brad Cruff of the Southeast District Court in North Dakota is one of 48 state leadersÂ from across the country selected as a Council of State Governments' Henry Toll Fellow for the Class of 2014.
