Alcohol was involved in a one-vehicle accident that injured a West Fargo woman near Oriska Saturday.
The SUV, driven by Dheryl Nilson, 54, was southbound on Highway 32 when it left the roadway at about 10:20 p.m., according to a media release from Barnes County Sheriff Randy McLaflin. Nilson tried to bring the vehicle back onto the road. The vehicle then rolled several times in the west ditch coming to rest on its wheels. Nilson was transported to CHI Mercy Health in Valley City by ambulance and later transfered to a Fargo hospital.
Smith Lumber in Valley City is holding its grand opening this weekend, complete with specials and demonstrations, door prizes and a cook out.
Brenda Durheim, who owns the store with her husband Tim, said there will be in-store specials Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with one distribution representative there Thursday with special promotions.

A small grass fire west of Baldhill Dam Thursday serves as a reminder of the current danger of grass and wildfires.
The fire was reported to the Valley City Rural Fire Department at about 11:20 a.m. Thursday, according to Valley City Rural Fire Department Chief Gary Retterath. People working in the area witnessed the smoke just after a train passed and were able to extinguish the flames before the fire department arrived. The fire department assisted by wetting hot spots to keep the fire from re-igniting.
Circle of Friends pre-kindergarten class cleans litter in preparation of Earth Day, which is held Wednesday. "We are doing best to keep Valley City clean," said Colette Jenson of Circle of Friends.
The Sheyenne River Valley Chapter of the North Country Trail Association held its annual meeting on Saturday, April 11, at the Valley City Eagles Club. The group shared plans for the development and maintenance of the North Country Trail this summer which includes removing downed trees across the trail, installing directional signage, stop signs, brochure boxes and interpretive panels along the trail, and installing boardwalks in several low areas or filling in low spots with gravel.
