Rodney Atkins to Headline Winter Show

January 13, 2015

Country singer Rodney Atkins will headline the North Dakota Winter Show concert this year. The "Take a Back Road" singer will take the stage at 8:30 p.m., and Fargo-based rock-country group 32 Below will open the show at 7 p.m. Friday, March 6.

Atkins, an east Tennessee native, is known for hits, "If You're Going Through Hell," "Watching You" and "Farmer's Daughter."

Faith Lutheran; One Step Closer to Rebuilding

Faith Lutheran Church will open bids for construction of a new church Wednesday.

The new building, which will replace the church building that was destroyed by an arson fire in Oct. 2013, will be a modern structure on one level, according to Faith Lutheran Church's building committee chairman Keth Hovland.

Development Corp. Asking City to Help Fund Wellness Center

The Valley Development Corporation requested to use $500,000 from the city economic development fund toward construction of the Valley City Health, Wellness and Physical Education Center. The Valley City Commission will consider the request at its regular meeting on Jan. 20 at 5 p.m. More in Monday's Times-Record.

VC Student Hopes to Raise $5K for Relay

Kasidy Tibke, a sophomore at Valley City High School, has set a lofty goal and is now looking for help in raising $5,000 for the Barnes County Relay for Life. Tibke and her family, who've been affected by cancer, have been a part of the Relay for many years.

On Friday, June 12 as the Barnes County Relay for Life kicks off its 16th annual event, on the south lawn of the Barnes County Courthouse, Tibke will be preparing for her life-changing challenge event.

Art Show at VCHS This Evening

Valley City Junior Senior High School art students will show off their artwork from the past semester this (Monday) evening at an art show.
The show will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the cafeteria and junior high halls. Junior high art is taught by Carol Foth and senior high art is taught by Kelly Callahan.
