Feir and Wit: Entering the Age of Wedding Bells

January 21, 2013

I have entered the age of wedding bells and save-the-dates. I’m not exaggerating when I say a new engagement comes to my attention almost daily.

I think the main reason this stuns me is because of the recently outdated trend of the majority of the population waiting until they’re nearly 30 to get hitched. That’s not old, by any means, but it’s years later in life than when most couples started their lives together in previous generations.

To accommodate for growth and better serve its residents, The Legacy Place, owned by Paul and Tanya Diegel, has reorganized staff internally and is seeking new staff.

Wendi Johnston, licensed practical nurse, is a recent graduate from Bismarck State College who had previously worked at the Anne Carlson Center in Jamestown.

Nudell's 31 Helps MV Get 2nd Straight BCT Title

January 20, 2013

As far as Maple Valley High School coach Jeff Miller is concerned, there are few post players with the offensive skill set of Rylee Nudell.
"When she gets the ball facing the basket, there are not too many people out there who can stop her," Miller said about the freshman, who scored her 1,000th point earlier this month. "She's got an extremely explosive first step, so she can get by that one defender, and if that help-side defense isn't there right away, and even if it is there, she can maneuver herself around them to make the layup, and a lot of times get fouled in the process."

Blonde on the Prairie: A Night in the Life of a Redneck Diabetic

January 18, 2013

I’m not a Catholic nor am I a criminal. Yet here I stand in an invisible confessional bearing my soul. In this life I wish to teach as much as I learn. I learned, for instance, sometime during the flood of 2009 never to set my keys on the shelf in a porta-pottie because it’s really not a shelf at all. If you look closely at the shelves in porta-potties they have a single hole in them. I learned it is not a shelf but rather a urinal. The hole has a purpose. The keys have since been washed. Trust me. I confessed that to you because I appreciate humor.
