Delphine Maasjo Hunt passed away February 22, 2015 in Santa Maria, California. Delphine was born in North Dakota to Simon and Amy Luella Dahl Maasjo.
A teacher for 33 years, Delphine received education degrees from both North Dakota and California.

Liturgy of the Word will be offered on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot
Visitation: Monday, March 2, 2015, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. all at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot
Burial will take place in the spring of 2015 at the Fairview Cemetery in Sanborn, ND.

A fundraising event was held Thursday for the Valley City Health, Wellness and Physical Education Center. During the event, the public was presented with new architect's renderings of the facility including final layout designs.

Women's Division Events Now Called Timeless Traditions, Operated by Winter Show

The 78th annual North Dakota Winter Show begins next week. This year's show features all the perennial favorites along with some new and changed events. All the former Women's Division events will still take place, but are now called Timeless Traditions and are operated by the Winter Show.

Bullying Prevention Program at HAC Tuesday

On Tuesday, March 3, Amy Walters, South East Education Cooperative’s Director of Student Services, will be presenting on the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) from 4-5 p.m. at the Hi-Liner Activity Center lobby in Valley City. This event is free and open to the public. No registration is required.

CCHD Ponders E-Cig Ordinance

Russell J. Myhre, Valley City City Attorney, is working on an e-cigarette control ordinance on request of City Commissioner Madeline Luke that would allow one e-cigarette vendor for each 1,000 residents in the city, or seven in the entire city.

Senate Approves Pre-School Funding

February 26, 2015

A bill aimed at funding pre-kindergarten education in North Dakota, passed a hurdle Wednesday when it was approved by the senate.

Senate Bill 2151 is a $6 million bill that, if passed, would provide pre-kindergarten education to about 6,000 three- and four-year olds. The funding would provide about $1,000 per child, about half of the cost of the program, or $1,500 per child in low-income families.
