Valley City State sophomore right fielder Brady Anderson is the NAIA Baseball National Player of the Week, the NAIA announced Tuesday.
Hi-Liner softball debuted with 7-3 and 18-15 wins in 59-degree weather at Bismarck on Saturday before Mondayâ€™s blizzard froze the schedule for at least the next week.
â€śBoth teams looked better at the plate as both also started their No. 2 pitchers, so the hitters had a little better luck although the defenses looked like it might have been their first games as errors were easy to come by,â€ť said Hi-Liner head coach Jason Lindgren of the later game that featured eight errors from either side.

Barnes County Social Services is encouraging the community to observe National Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. The organization says, "Prevention requires a community effort, and everyone can do something."
Valley City State sophomore right fielder Brady Anderson is your back-to-back North Star Athletic Association Baseball Player of the Week.
Anderson, the 5-foot-10-inch Jamestown, N.D. native, enjoyed a .593 batting average and a 1.148 slugging percentage as the Vikings posted a 3-3 record between March 24 and March 31. He hit for the cycle in March 29â€™s 23-8 win at Dickinson State in which he powered for a two-run homer, an RBI triple, a three-run double and a total of eight RBIs.
Valley City State University Athletic Director Jack Denholm announced on Friday the hiring of Adam Longmore as the 11th head volleyball coach in school history.
Longmore replaces Susan Kolbow, who resigned in January following four seasons as head coach, and takes over the program in mid-April.

Hi-Liner softball's Tuesday doubleheader vs. Grand Forks Red River was rescheduled to Saturday, but has since been postponed. Friday's doubleheader at West Fargo has also been postponed.
Softball (2-0 overall)'s next game is currently scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8 at Fargo South.
Baseballâ€™s Tuesday 5 p.m.-and-7 p.m. doubleheader opener against Grand Forks Central has been cancelled, and their 5 p.m.-and-7 p.m. home doubleheader against Devils Lake has been postponed to May 8.
Valley City Public Schools will be closing early with Jefferson and Washington Elementary Schools dismissing students at 12:45 p.m. and the junior/senior high school dismissing students at 1 p.m.
The Barnes County Courthouse is Closed.
