Starting today, bars in Valley City can stay open until 2 a.m. The City of Valley City met late last year with bar owners and residents to update its alcohol ordiance and decided that they would allow bar owners to stay open to the state maximum time of 2 a.m.
Following the publication of a title and penalty clause in Friday's Times-Record, the new alcohol ordinance takes effect, said Valley City City Attorney Russ Myhre.
The decision to stay open until 2 a.m. is up to each bar owner.
