Valley City Native to Appear in FX Series Fargo

Valley City native Tom Musgrave is set to appear in an upcoming TV adaption of the 1996 film Fargo, which is slated to air in 10 episodes on FX this spring.
Musgrave will play Bo Munk, the boss of main character Lester Nygaard, played by Martin Freeman, a well-known actor who's appeared in The Office, Sherlock and The Hobbit film trilogy.

Dickey Rural Network Region Wins National Smart Community Award

Gustavus Adolphus Too Much for VCSU

NAIA No. 22 Valley City State football hosted Division III opponent Gustavus Adolphus College on Saturday in a physical battle from which the Gusties, behind senior running back Jeffrey Dubose's 203 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns to become the Gusties' career rushing touchdown leader with 38, and sophomore quarterback Mitch Hendricks' 102 passing yards and three touchdown passes to three different receivers, emerged with a 42-21 win.

Fire Causes Extensive Damage at Faith Lutheran: Officials Ask to Please Stay Clear

Officials ask that the public steer clear of Faith Lutheran Church on Fourth St. NE, Valley City, after fire caused extensive damage to the structure Monday morning.
A cause for the fire has not been determined, so until an investigation is complete and the structure is safe, the Valley City Fire Department and church officials ask that nobody enter the building.
Inspectors from the North Dakota State Fire Marshall's office and from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms investigated the scene Monday afternoon. The cause of the blaze has not been released pending their investigation.

VC Parks and Rec Announces Tobacco-Free Policy

Valley City Parks and Recreation’s board approved a policy on Oct. 2 that prohibits the use of any tobacco products in most of their recreational facilities, both outdoor and enclosed areas, according to VCPR Director Tyler Jacobson.
The board wants to create and sustain a recreation environment that supports a clear tobacco-free norm and helps protect the health of our youth, Jacobson said.
