Hi-Liner track and field set 15 personal records and placed in five events at Saturdayâ€™s Eastern Dakota Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Cushman Field in Grand Forks, N.D.
Both the boys and girls team took 10th with two points. West Fargo won the girls meet, Fargo Davies the boys.
Sophomore Deanna Schneiderâ€™s 15.81 seconds for 38th in the 100-Meter Dash and 32.75 seconds for 33rd in the 200-Meter Dash were both personal bests.
Sophomore Heidi Mundfromâ€™s new personal mark of 32.90 seconds in the 200-Meter Dash earned 34th.
Diamond 8 Valley Plains Equipment defeated Corner Bar, 28-13 and 15-2.
Diamond 9 IDK/Buff defeated Streeter, 10-2 and 11-10.
Diamond 10 Shadyâ€™s defeated Sanford/Looysen, 13-2 and 16-0.
Diamond 11 FCCU/Iverson/Midwestern took the first game 10-2, Wonder Bar/RTS Shearing the second, 12-8.

Valley City Thunder Football registration enters its 14th year and registers on a first-come, first-serve basis for Fall 2014 5th- and 6th-graders interested in participating in organized tackle football.

Hi-Liner softball celebrated four seniors in Tuesdayâ€™s regular season finale, an 11-0 Parents Night win over Fargo South in advance of Thursdayâ€™s 5 p.m. Eastern Dakota Conference Tournament matchup against the very same Bruins.
â€śItâ€™ll be tougher to replace four seniors [Dierra Diegel, Danica Diegel, Jessica Denholm and Paula Andel],â€ť said Valley City head coach Jason Lindgren of his graduating leaders. â€śBut we have sophomores [Hannah Meyer, Heather Knutson, Kaylee Schlittenhardt, Brenna Dieterle and Tarryn Justesen] moving up.â€ť
Valley City Teachers and the Valley City School Board reached tentative agreement on a contract for 2013 Monday after eight months of impasse.The agreement will become final after both the school board and members of the Valley City Education Association ratify it. Barnes County Sheriff Randy McClaflin expects Computer Information Systems Inc. of Skokie, Ill., to install new Computer Aided Dispatch software on dispatch, jail and law enforcement computers June 16 to 23. Paul Jacob Myles, the suspect in an early morning burglary at the Valley City AmericInn Monday, is in custody.
Just after Midnight Wednesday, Myles, 26, of Valley City, turned himself in to the Valley City Police Department in response to a warrant issued Tuesday for his arrest. He is held in the Barnes County Correctional Facility.
