Bowler Donating Money from Perfect Score to VC Woman Who Suffered Brain Aneurysms

A 22-year-old Valley City man bowled a perfect score in a city league tournament Sunday. The $1,000 Brady Anderson will receive from bowling alley sponsors will benefit Michelle Brendmoen, a Valley City woman who suffered brain aneurysms and underwent multiple surgeries earlier this month.

The Valley City High School choirs took a journey through a lifetime of music Sunday in a musical rendition of Life's a Journey during the annual Cafe Concert at the Hi-Liner Activity Center Sunday.

Valley City Robotics Team to Compete in Challenge

Students at Valley City High School are taking on a challenge: building a robot and participating in a competitive robot challenge. Students at VCHS have had an opportunity to participate in a robotics challenge referred to as BEST. They have participated in BEST the last four years.

Monson Is Sportsman of the Year

Barnes County farmer Dick Monson was recently named the North Dakota Wildlife Federation Sportsman of the Year at the 80th annual meeting of the club. Monson received his award at the meeting Saturday, Jan. 17 in Bismarck.

Passenger killed, driver injured after rollover near Dazey

January 25, 2015

A 33-year-old male from Casselton was killed Saturday night when the Chevrolet Silverado he was a passenger in rolled on Highway 26, 7 miles east of Dazey. The 30-year-old male driver of Dazey was injured and transported to Sanford Hospital, according to a media release from the North Dakota Highway Patrol.

According to the release, the driver lost control of the vehicle at about 8:45 p.m. The vehicle entered the south ditch, vaulted off a township road and rolled, coming to rest upside down.
