Those who have extra healthcare supplies and equipment they no longer need can donate it to HERO, Healthcare Equipment Recycling Organization, which just set up a donation bin at the Barnes County Senior Center. HERO, which has an office in Fargo, then redistributes the supplies to those in need.

Each Wednesday, local law enforcement asks for the public's assistance in locating individuals who have felony warrants out for their arrest.
Valley City Tennis Association Summer Tennis League champions for this year are American Family Insurance with a 6-0 match record.

Close, really close â€” no World titles this year, but a lot of fun competing for one. Wilbur Gabel and two of his grandsons, Cameron, 15, and his brother Noah, 11, all from Valley City, N.D., traveled to Hamburg, N.Y. last week to participate in this yearâ€™s 2014 National Horseshoe Pitching Association (NHPA) World Tournament.
Both Wilbur and Noah won World titles in the past.

The 40th annual Gaylen Opdahl Golf Tournament was held at the Valley City Country Club on Aug 1, the field of which included golfers from five states and Canada.
Eighty-seven golfers participated in the five-person scramble, and Dick Gulman and Ralph Hooper took the tournament.
Jan Beauchman, Jim Retterath and Nate Zerface shot 18-under-par 54s.
Second place went to Tim Sorenson and Dewey Magnuson.
Dex Manley, Matt Sorenson and Randy Earles shot 15 under par.
First place in the first flight went to Bob Bergan, Doug Bergan and Ken Dodd.
Valley City Town and Country Club held their Menâ€™s Day on July 17 as temperatures were on the rise. The Longest Putt of the Day, sponsored by Bank Forward, went to Jamie Wirth. The Pizza Ranch Closest to the Pin contest on Hole 2 was won by Doug Bergan. TJ Hansen claimed the prize on Hole 3 for Closest Shot Outside of 50 Yards, sponsored by the Valley City Town and Country Club. Club veteran Kerry Anderson continued his fine play and won the Closest Second Shot contest on Hole 4, sponsored by Taco Johnâ€™s.
The Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority will be hosting the 2014 Wings and Wheels Airshow Saturday, Sept. 6.
The main aerobatic act will be third-generation pilot Matt Younkin piloting his Twin Beech 18, performing maneuvers never thought possible with such a large transport plane. He will also be performing the â€śMagic By Moonlightâ€ť night show at 9 p.m. that evening.
