On Saturday, July 12, from 1 p.m. on, a fundraiser for the Midland Continental Depot Museum in Wimbledon, N.D., will take place in the Wimbledon Park.
From 1 p.m. until gone floats will be served, including root beer, orange or grape, along with ice cream sundaes including Donna Petersonâ€™s hot fudge and all the toppings.
There will also be face-painting and temporary tattoos. Vanilla and chocolate ice cream will be provided by the Midwest Dairy Association.

Hass, an offensive lineman, was First Team All-Region and First Team All-State, and became Valley Cityâ€™s Most Valuable Offensive Lineman and a Large Dairy Queen Blizzard Award winner â€” for having performed a pancake block this season â€” at Nov. 24, 2013â€™s Hi-Liner Football Award Ceremony.
Nate Rodriguez pitched seven District innings for 15 strikeouts and batted 3-of-3 Thursday as Valley City Babe Ruth took 6-2 revenge on Napoleon for June 17â€™s road loss.
â€śIt was a good win for us, especially to make up for that loss out in Napoleon,â€ť Babe Ruth head coach Lance Lukes said. â€śWe struck out too many times at the plate and left a few to many guys on base, but came through with some clutch hits and picked up a good win.â€ť

Newcomers to the Valley City-Barnes County area are invited to a welcome event to meet civic leaders and learn more about the community. The event will be held on Monday, July 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Dacotah Pavilion in Chautauqua Park in Valley City.
Former Valley City Commissioner Kenneth Evenson of Valley City, 77, passed Wednesday, July 2, at his Valley City residence. At the time he was serving as a manager on the board for the Barnes County Water Resource District.
Evenson also worked as a lineman for Cass County Electric and Valley City. Evenson is survived by wife Dotty; daughter Deborah Ramsay; son Jeffrey Evenson, a medical doctor; and several grandchildren.
He also served as an honor guard with the American Vets Club.
