Rhonda Peterson-Wahl, 59, Minot, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, in a Minot hospital.
Rhonda was born July 17, 1953 in Valley City, to Paul and Mildred (Bakke) Peterson. She was raised and educated in Fingal, attending both schools in Fingal as well as the State School in Grafton.

Heath, Charles Edgar, of High Ridge, Missouri was born January 7, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Charles Aaron and Velma Belle (nee Gilstropf) Heath passed away on, Friday, May 17, 2013 at Pacific Care Center, Pacific, Missouri at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 10 days.
He was preceded in death by, three (3) children, Michael Paul Heath, Teri Lynn Henry and Sharon Marie Gore, his parents, two (2) siblings, Frank Heath and Patricia Wadlow.
He is survived by his wife Theresa Cecilia (nee Roussin) Heath of High Ridge, Missouri,

3 TB Cases In Stutsman, Cass Counties

Three additional cases of active tuberculosis have been identified in Cass and Stutsman counties, North Dakota Department of Health officials reported Thursday.
Barnes County residents should not be overly concerned about cases being found in adjacent counties, said Theresa Will, executive director of the City-County Health District.
“We don't have any active cases in the area,” Will said Friday. “Good cough etiquette and washing hands” will help limit exposure to the bacteria, Will said.

Children's Theater Auditions June 3

Local youth have the opportunity to audition for a part in Alice In Wonderland in a couple weeks. Amy Tahran, president of UpStage Productions, Inc. which is hosting the week-long theater event along with Prairie Fire Children's Theater, said they are hoping for at least 35 kids ages 7-18 to audition.
Auditions are Monday, June 3 from 10 a.m. to noon at St. Catherine's Elementary School gymnasium, and youth will attend workshops the remainder of the week, preparing for the final production Saturday.

Dora Lee, age 93, of Valley City died May 16th at Mercy Hospital in Valley City. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 21st at Our Saviors Lutheran church in Valley City with Rev. Emmy Isaackson officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the Lerud-Schuldt Funeral Home with a family gathering at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue one hour before services Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Patricia L. (Wagner) Drong, 64, passed away due to complications flowing surgery on Wednesday, May 15th at Sanford Hospital, Fargo.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday May 21st at Sacred Heart Catholic church in Sanborn, ND with Msgr Dennis Skonseng celebrant and Deacon James McAllister assisting. Visitation will be from 4PM until 7 PM Monday at Sacred Heart Church with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 PM. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Interment will be in the ND Veterans Cemetery at Mandan, ND at 10 AM Wednesday.

Suspect Apprehended in Valley City from Moorhead Stabbing Investigation

Valley City Police arrested a Moorhead stabbing suspect without incident Friday Morning. The suspect, who was in possession of a stolen vehicle, was arrested on charges of first and second degree assault for stabbing a 25-year-old male at a Moorhead social gathering on May 5. Vehicle theft charges are pending. The suspect is currently in the Barnes County Jail.

The Cost of Doing 9-1-1 Business

Barnes County is prepared to spend up to $20,360 to remodel the county courthouse basement to ready space for a new 9-1-1 dispatch center on top of the estimated $63,000 estimated to move the center.
At a special Barnes County Commission meeting on Thursday, commissioners voted to move forward with the remodel project 3-1 with commissioner John Froelich voting no and commissioner Phil Leitner absent.
