West Fargo 66, Valley City 9

Valley City wrestling, ranked No. 5 in the initial North Dakota Class A East Coaches' Poll, hosted No. 1 West Fargo on Tuesday night, surrendering eight pins en route to a 66-9 defeat.

Entries Sought for Parade of Lights

The Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking entries for its annual holiday parade of lights Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. down Central Avenue.
Participants are encouraged to enter by Dec. 4, by filling out a flyer that's available at the Rosebud Visitors Center or on the Chamber's website, www.valleycitynd.org.

Man Struck by Vehicle on I-94

November 26, 2013

A Staples, Minn., man was seriously injured Monday morning when he was struck by a vehicle along I-94.
At the time of the crash, Larry Cummings, 45, was outside his Dodge pick-up on the south shoulder of I-94 at Valley City reconnecting a utility trailer. Barbara Cummings, 41, and an eight-month-old child were passengers in the truck.

Grossman Terminated As Griggs SA

The Griggs County Commission has severed ties with the Barnes County State’s Attorney’s Office and approved a joint powers agreement with Nelson County to provide the county with legal services, said Barnes County State's Attorney Lee Grossman. More in Tuesday's issue of the Times-Record.

Red Kettle Drive Begins Friday

November 25, 2013

Barnes County's Salvation Army annual red kettle drive begins this week on Black Friday. Organizers hope to raise $40,000 this year, $10,000 more than the goal last year, but still less than the record-breaking amount raised last year.
This year's fundraising campaign begins Friday, Nov. 29, and lasts until Christmas Eve. The familiar red kettles will be set up at Leevers Foods, Marketplace Foods and Shopko in Valley City.

BC Agrees to Add Regulatory Funds
