Head Librarian Steve Hammel looked over a group of books recently received by the Valley City-Barnes County Public Library through a Books for Children grant. The grant provided 70 books, both fiction and non-fiction, for children between birth and 12 years of age. The books are worth about $1,070.
Executive Vice President for the Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce Dawn Riley said she's stepping down from her EVP role and Kay Vinje, event coordinator for the Chamber, will be the new EVP as of June 1.
The announcement came at the Valley City-Barnes County Development Group and Chamber's joint banquet and awards ceremony Tuesday evening at Sabirs.
