The Valley Youth Choir, under the direction of Dr. Sara Hagan, has been rehearsing for its spring concert which will be held in April.
The choir, part of the Valley City State University Community School of the Arts, is made up of 12 youth between third and eighth grades. The children, who come from all over the surrounding areas, gather for weekly rehearsals where they learn to work together, get voice training and gain appreciation for the music.
"We're a team, we work together," Hagen said.
Several Valley City businesses and groups helped to make the 2013 North Dakota state gymnastics competition Feb. 22 and 23 in Valley City a success.
Valley City's Shopko Hometown store, MarketPlace and Leevers Foods, Enterprise Sales, Stoudt-Ross Ford, and the Twisters Gymnastics Club were among those who helped.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation has launched a mobile version of their website in the form of a smartphone application. In addition, they also launched an email and text message service to disseminate information to the public.
The new app enables access to NDDOTâs travel information map from a smartphones and smart devices and tablets, providing an overview of road conditions within North Dakota.
Advanced options allow users to add/remove map layers, save favorites, view cameras, search by keyword and select common routes.
