I am on a quest to find out. Maybe you, the Valley City Times Record readers can assist me.
I was the passenger as that husband of mine drove us home. Lately weâve been traveling on short trips to and fro so not to get depressed. We are living proof that if you just keep moving your mind canât hijack your joy. While he drives â I wonder. Bet you never knew I did that, did ya?
The Kiwanis Club of Jamestown is looking for donations and volunteers for its third Kids Against Hunger food packaging event to be held in March.
The event will take place on March 2, at the Buffalo Mall in Jamestown. Event co-chair Janna Bergstedt hopes to raise $30,000 and have 250 volunteers to package meals for those less fortunate.
The Valley City Fire Department will hold their annual smoker Friday evening at the Veterans of Foreign Wars club in Valley City.
The annual fundraiser starts at 6 p.m. and the entrance fee is $10.
âWe try to put the money (raised) towards certain equipment we need, smaller items like flashlights and small tools, something that we need that we use quite often,â Fire Chief Gary Retterath said. âJust so we can keep up with the equipment, make sure we have the equipment we need.â
During the smoker, the VCFD does raffles and sells bacon, ham, groceries and guns.

CASSELTON â For the last two years, the No. 4 Maple Valley High School girls basketball team has operated like a well-oiled machine.
The formula essentially comes down to Rylee Nudell setting the tone with plenty of points in the paint, then getting a bit of assistance from a deep supporting cast.
But Thursday at Central Cass, the home Squirrels threw a wrench into the equation, putting Nudell at a major size disadvantage, then keeping her guards from getting open looks in a 54-34 loss for the Raiders.
