BC Accepts Paving, Grader Bids

Meeting Dec. 3, Barnes County commissioners decided to repave County Road 21 from the North Valley Bridge to the Bayshore Resort at Lake Ashtabula for a total cost of $2.8 million in the summer of 2014. More in Monday's issue of the Times-Record.

Santa Visiting Dakota Plains Friday

Santa Claus will be at the Dakota Plains, located at 151 Ninth Avenue Northwest, Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. Children can get their photo taken with him for free.

ODC Executive Director Mary Simonson Inducted Into Special Olympics ND Hall of Fame

Open Door Center Executive Director Mary Simonson was recently inducted into the Special Olympics North Dakota hall of fame during a ceremony in Fargo Nov. 16. Simonson helped re-establish the Special Olympics in North Dakota when she first became executive director at the ODC nearly three decades ago.

Fund Set Up for T-R Publisher Who Lost Home in Fire

A benefit fund has been set up at Bank Forward for Times-Record Publisher J. Reed Anderson and his family, who lost their home in Minnesota to a fire last week.
Reed's son Jed Anderson was living in the house at the time and lost nearly everything.
Donations to help the family can be sent to or dropped off at Bank Forward c/o Reed Anderson Benefit, 430 West Main Street, P.O. Box 635 Valley City, N.D. 58072.

Court Seeks Facility Grant

Southeastern District Clerk of Court Wanda Auka will try to get a court facility grant from the North Dakota court system to create a permanent jury room, covering 75 percent of the estimated $23,000 total cost. More in Thursday's issue of the Times-Record.
