North Dakota Outdoors: New fishing regulations set to take effect

I don’t necessarily consider myself old, but I do know I’m old enough to remember the drought of the late 1980s and early 1990s when Devils Lake was hardly visible from Minnewaukan, and one day I walked across the parched bottom of Hobart Lake in Barnes County.
Since a wet cycle started in 1993, construction crews have had to build up Interstate 94, which runs through Hobart Lake, because of rising water, and Minnewaukan today is nearly surrounded by Devils Lake.

VCSU baseball team ready to start "second season"

As anyone in Valley City will tell you, winter doesn’t always treat springs sports teams well.
But as this last winter progressed in a mild fashion, Valley City State University baseball coach Casey Olney and his coaching counterparts at Dickinson State University and Jamestown College kicked around the idea of moving the Dakota Athletic Conference preseason tournament from sites in South Dakota to local fields.
But even those talks were done with a hint of caution as coaches waited to see whether their fields would be playable.
