College students donât always have the opportunity to make it home for every holiday, so Valley City State University makes sure students who stay in town over the holidays are provided a nice meal.
VCSU is teaming up with Vickyâs Viking Room to offer a Thanksgiving meal to college students who arenât able to make it home for the holiday weekend.
âIâve always felt bad that I know there are students that canât go home because itâs such a short holiday,â said Kari Stricklin, director of student activities at VCSU.
Valley City Public School students stuffed a Coca-Cola truck with 109 tubs of food last Wednesday for the Barnes County Food Shelf during its annual âStuff the Truckâ food drive.
Official charges in connection with approximately 50 Barnes County burglaries have been filed against two Valley City residents and two Minnesota residents by the Barnes County Sheriffs Department, said Sheriff Randy McClaflin.
On Thursday District Court Judge Jay A. Schmitz ordered the arrest of Barnes County residents April Robyn Kapaun, 25, and Steven Lee Hovland, 38; and Minnesota residents Broc Allen Buytaert, 32; and Betsy Lee Runkle, 31.
Schmitzâs orders said there there was sufficient probable cause for the arrest of all four suspects.
